Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has expressed the commitment of his government to honour legitimate investor agreements to demonstrate the resolve to attract to and keep investments in the state.
He made the remarks at the State Executive Council meeting on Friday when council members voted unanimously to annul a revocation order on a parcel of land allocated to an estate developer, AG Homes.
Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Mr. Solomon Onah, had reported that although the company had paid all statutory fees and was issued with a building certificate of occupancy, the parcel of land at Ogbeke Nike in the Enugu suburb was subsequently revoked.
Mr. Onah had asked the Council to consider the request for annulment as the investor company has also undertaken that it would no longer pursue the option of a potential protracted legal battle to enforce its lease agreement with the state.
The request to annul the revocation was unanimously passed by the State Executive Council.
