
Commissioner of Information, Mr. Ogbuagu Anikwe, has appealed to relations of Enugu State residents with hearing impairment to take advantage of an opportunity being offered by the government to obtain a free diagnosis or secure quality hearing aids.
The government of Enugu State, in collaboration with the Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation, will next week distribute over N10million worth of hearing aids to citizens and residents with hearing impairment.
The event will take place at the Okpara Square, Enugu, between Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 October 2017, beginning from 8.00 am each day.
Doctors and nurses arranged by the partners, some of them from the United States, will conduct free examination and treatment of persons suffering from hearing problems.
Persons diagnosed with severe cases will be given the expensive hearing aids some of which cost almost N1million each.
“The State Executive Council has commended the proactive decision of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to embrace the opportunity of a free but expensive and quality hearing aids to people of the state who could ordinarily not afford them,” Mr. Anikwe said.
