
The Enugu State Executive Council on Monday January 30, 2023 approved the 2023 Annual State Business Enabling Reforms Action Plan, (BERAP) in satisfaction of the eligibility criteria for the State Action on Business Reform (SABER) national program.
As part of the state’s economic expansion drive, the state under His Excellency, Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi led administration has fully keyed into the national Ease of Doing Business reform agenda together with the State Action on Business Reform (SABER) program.
The SABER program is central to the government’s efforts to improve (1) the efficiency of land administration, (2) the regulatory framework for private investment in fibre optic infrastructure, (3) services provided by investment promotion agencies and public-private partnership units, and (4) the efficiency and transparency of government-to-business services in participating. The overall, aim is to improve the business enabling environment across Nigeria’s states.
The 2023 Annual State Business Enabling Reforms Action Plan, (BERAP) which was prepared with the collaboration of all the state’s Business Environment Enabling MDAs (BEE-MDAs) was presented to state EXCO by Dr. Sam Ogbu-Nwobodo, MD Enugu State Investment Development Authority and State Ease Of Doing Business Reform Champion on January 30, 2023.
The approved proposed 2023 BERAP contains a List of contributing entities, defined actions, Timelines, designation of responsible entities for the actions, Targets and Estimated cost of implementation.
The approved BERAP is available on the Enugu state website in line with the transparency and open governance posture of the Ugwuanyi led administration.
Reacting to the approval of the state’s BERAP 2023, Dr. Ogbu-Nwobodo commended the State Executive Council for it’s continued commitment to reforming the business environment in the state for efficient service delivery, and sustainable rapid economic growth in the state.
