APPLICATION PROCESS AND GUIDELINES FOR PROCESSING ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT (EIA) IN ENUGU STATE

Pursuant to the provisions of “Environmental Impact Assessment 9EIA) (Act 86, 1992)”

Step 1: Submission of application
1. Application is submitted to the Commissioner’s office at Blk B2 (Second Floor), New
Secretariat Complex, GRA, Enugu State.
2. Upon submission of application, the applicant is given a list of State EIA Accredited
consultants to choose from.
Step 2: Site visit / inspection
The applicant and the consultant go to the site for survey and negotiate the cost of the
assessment.
Step 3: Payment of EIA report fee
The applicant pays the EIA report submission fee N70,000.00, into the state IGR through any
commercial bank and come to the account department for verification and issuance of the
treasury receipt
Step 4: Submission of Environmental Impact Assessment Report

The EIA report prepared by the accredited consultant is submitted in the department of
pollution office for cross examination /review

The ENMOEMR monitors and tracks the implementation and compliance with
recommendations in the EIA report by the applicant
Timeframe:
The timeframe for the entire process is 5- 21 days
